The leading personal mobility (PM) sharing service platform in Korea, ‘GCOO’, operated by GBike Co., Ltd., announced on the 27th that it has reached overseas sales of $1 million in 2024. This achievement comes in less than two years since it first launched overseas services in Thailand in March of last year.
As the only PM company in Korea to consistently operate services overseas, GBike has expanded its services to Thailand, the United States, Vietnam, and Guam, solidifying its position in the global market. Notably, even in the United States, known as the birthplace of PM, they have successfully expanded stable operations to cities like Memphis and LA competing with local services. Recently, they have also successfully entered Africa by launching services in Ghana, marking the first entry into Africa by an Asian PM company.
The number of overseas subscribers has steadily increased, with approximately 190,000 members in Thailand and about 80,000 members in the United States. Building on this momentum, they plan to continuously grow their driving force in the global market and expand their service areas.
Yoon Jongsoo, CEO of GBike, expressed, “Achieving an annual revenue of $1 million in less than two years of overseas expansion is very meaningful. It gives us confidence that GCOO's service competitiveness and quality can thrive in larger markets.” He further added, “We will continuously expand overseas services based on our excellent operational capabilities.”
Meanwhile, GBike aims to expand its global business area, adding PM infrastructure and foundational services such as BSS (Battery Swapping System) to its PM sharing services like electric bicycles and electric scooters. Through this, they plan to provide sustainable short-distance mobility solutions in various countries.
