South Korea's number one personal mobility (PM) sharing service, GCOO, recently announced on the 14th that it had conducted a customer story contest called ‘Green Mailbox’.

The event, which requested GCOO users to share their experiences, received hundreds of heartfelt stories. The evaluation was based on originality, authenticity, and content completeness, with a total of 59 stories being selected as awardees. The grand prize went to a story by designated driver Jung Gil-woong. Mr. Jung described his experience from last summer when he took a job as a designated driver in a coastal village at 1 a.m. Despite being drenched in sweat due to the sweltering weather and no longer having public transportation options available, GCOO appeared before him. Riding GCOO for the first time, Mr. Jung commented, “I regretted not having used GCOO earlier.” Now, whenever he works late-night driving jobs, GCOO has become more than just public transportation for him.

Stories of overcoming crises also grabbed attention. Mr. Lee Kwang-seop, who was about to finalize an annual contract with a client, had forgotten his external hard drive containing his presentation files at home. Thanks to GCOO, stationed right in front of his company, he retrieved the hard drive from home within 15 minutes and secured the contract. Meanwhile, last year on the day of the college entrance exam, examinee Shin Yeon-woo mistook the bus to an unfamiliar test center. However, a GCOO that appeared in front of her took her to the exam venue faster than a taxi could have.

Aside from these cases, GCOO was a part of the customer's daily life. Ms. Goo Gyo-rim, who commuted to school on GCOO every day, used her GCOO usage records to prove her perfect attendance after being mistakenly marked absent at the year-end attendance check by her professor. Mr. Kim Hyun-kyu, who commuted from Cheonan to Hwaseong every day at 5:30 a.m., boasted, “I had to walk 1.3km to the shuttle bus stop, but GCOO allowed me 15 more minutes of sleep every day.” For these individuals, GCOO was a companion safeguarding their daily lives. GCOO plans to produce some of the stories from this Green Mailbox contest into videos to share with other customers.

Lee Ho-jin, operations director of GBike, which operates GCOO, stated, “Through the Green Mailbox story contest, we have gained a deeper understanding of what GCOO means to our customers,” and “We will continue to strive to provide a convenient lifestyle across the country, overcoming the limitations of walking.”
