G-Bike, the operator of the personal mobility (PM) sharing platform GCOO, has presented a technical session at the world's largest cloud conference AWS Re:Invent, currently underway in Las Vegas, USA.

At the conference, along with G-Bike, Kakao Pay Securities, Karrot, LG Uplus, Aeslip, Yogiyo, Hankook Tire, POSCO Holdings, KB Financial Group, E-Mart, and others participated and conducted sessions in Korean. G-Bike is the first domestic micro-mobility company to present a session at AWS Re:Invent.

On November 27th, local time, G-Bike introduced two projects in collaboration with AWS (Amazon Web Services) during the security/compliance session. The first project was the construction of a security system that meets ISMS (Information Security Management System) certification and the second was prototyping an optimized battery replacement route.

The projects introduced by G-Bike demonstrate the distinct advantage of being able to concurrently develop internal and external systems with minimal personnel and time invested. Even in the environment of startups with limited development resources, they suggested the possibility of rapidly constructing an external security system of ISMS certification level and at the same time showed ways to maximize the efficiency of internal systems such as battery change operation models.

Through participating in the Re:Invent sessions, G-Bike assessed that it could announce that it has been developing various systems within GCOO with innovative approaches and excellent technical capabilities. As the first Korean micro-mobility company to conduct such a session, they highlighted how they solved issues shared by the industry and climbed to the top of the industry in Asia.

G-Bike's CTO, Kim Young-sang, who presented on-site, shared his view that "having the opportunity to present at AWS Re:Invent, a prestigious and influential conference, is a great honor personally." He then expressed great pleasure in "being able to show GCOO's technical achievements, share the efforts and dedication, and the accomplishments made within the industry" through this opportunity.

Meanwhile, last year GCOO recorded the highest revenue of 52.2 billion won among Asian shared PM services. It also operates the largest fleet in the industry with 100,000 electric scooters and electric bicycles, and in September it was the first in Asia to surpass 100 million cumulative rides. Recently, they have been actively expanding their services overseas to countries including Thailand and cities like Memphis and LA in the USA, and Guam.
