GBike, represented by CEO Yoon Jong-Soo, which operates South Korea's number one personal mobility (PM) sharing service platform 'GCOO', announced on the 27th that it has signed a business agreement with the Bonghwang Battalion of the 32nd Division, based in Daejeon, for the use of PM in military operations and training.

The signing ceremony took place at the Daejeon Central Western Reserve Forces training ground, with Colonel Kim Hyun-Jong, commander of the Bonghwang Battalion, CEO Yoon Jong-Soo of GCOO, and director Jeong Gu-Seong in attendance.

This agreement aims not only to support military training but also to enhance the mobility of active and reserve soldiers in the event of local provocations or full-scale war within the operation zone, by supplying GCOO's electric bicycles and electric scooters as personal mobility (PM) to contribute to national security and public safety.

As per the business agreement, the Bonghwang Battalion will receive support from GCOO's electric bicycles and electric scooters to carry out operations in case of emergencies within the operation zone during wartime. GCOO's devices are expected to be utilized as maneuver equipment for the military, quickly responding in alleys and crowded places where vehicle entry is difficult in urban areas. This is anticipated to contribute to the efficient execution of operations by enhancing the mobility of the mobilized reserve forces.

Colonel Kim Hyun-Jong, commander of the Bonghwang Battalion, said, "I am pleased that this agreement will bring innovative changes to the military operations and training of our unit" and "I hope that the mobilized reservists deployed in local defense operations can secure rapid response capabilities and maximize the efficiency of military operations by utilizing GCOO's electric bicycles and electric scooters."

GCOO's CEO Yoon Jong-Soo stated, "It is a new sentiment to play an important role for national security with the Army unit," and "I expect GCOO's service to make a substantial contribution to military operations and training, and we will continue to do our best to further enhance product performance through close cooperation with the military and contribute to protecting the safety of the local community and the nation."

GBike has expanded its role in PM by concluding a business agreement to promote firefighting policies with the Gwangju Eastern Fire Station in 2022 and following up with the Seoul Gangseo Police Station last year and the Daejeon Central Police Station this year to support patrol activities using PM. With this new agreement with an Army unit for military operation cooperation, GBike is continuously broadening PM's role in various public sectors such as seniors and people with disabilities employment efforts, as well as in the military, police, and firefighting fields.
