GBike (led by CEO Jongsoo Yoon), which operates GCOO, the number one personal mobility (PM) sharing service platform in Korea, announced that it has signed an industry-academia cooperation agreement with Inha Technical College (Inha Tech).
On the 8th, GBike held a cooperation agreement ceremony with Inha Tech to strengthen technical collaboration. Through this agreement, GBike and Inha Tech plan to collaborate on research and development, practical training, and employment support to enhance students’ capabilities and promote mutual development.
In particular, GBike decided to develop technology to prevent two-person riding on PMs in collaboration with Inha Tech’s electrical engineering research team and agreed to provide PM devices for research activities at the ceremony. Recently, Inha Tech was designing ideas to solve the multi-passenger issue on personal mobility devices, and GBike agreed to actively support this by providing devices that can be practically used and relevant information. The devices will be utilized for prototype production and research, and GBike plans to strengthen its research and development capabilities in PM safety technology by providing additional support as needed.

The agreement ceremony was attended by Jongsoo Yoon, CEO of GBike, and relevant GBike representatives, as well as Seongchan Kim, President of Inha Tech, Taesung Jeong, Director of the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, and Sungyong Jang, Professor of Electrical Engineering, pledging to promote industry-academia cooperation.
This collaboration is anticipated to be an important opportunity, beyond mere research support, to establish a foundation for continuous technological exchange between GBike and Inha Tech. GBike pledged continuous support to help students in relevant departments acquire skills and know-how applicable to real industry environments and contribute to enhancing PM safety and efficiency based on research outcomes. Through this, GBike plans to move towards its goal of creating a safe and convenient PM usage environment.
Jongsoo Yoon, CEO of GBike, stated, “It is very meaningful to establish a cooperative relationship with Inha Technical College, which has nurtured many talented technical personnel,” and added, “Through this industry-academic cooperation, we will provide students in related departments an opportunity to showcase their technical capabilities and continue research exchanges to solve recent issues like the two-person riding problem, creating a better personal mobility environment.”
