Lithium pack specialist Inzi e-Solution recently announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to jointly develop a universal lithium pack with GCOO, a shared scooter and bicycle platform company, on the 18th.

With this MOU, both companies intend to pursue the domestic production of lithium packs that were previously wholly imported. They expect to achieve effects such as securing related technology, creating jobs, revitalizing the PM market, entering the PM battery lifecycle market, and contributing to carbon neutrality.

Inzi e-Solution, an affiliate of the auto parts and battery specialist Inzi Group, is a comprehensive lithium battery packaging solution company. Occupying a leading position in the domestic lithium pack industry, Inzi e-Solution researches, develops, and produces lithium battery packs for various industrial sectors and has supplied hundreds of thousands of lithium packs over the last decade.

GCOO operates the PM sharing platform GCOO and has secured the highest number of users in the domestic PM industry. It currently operates around 60,000 electric scooters, with aggressive marketing to reach a first-phase goal of operating 40,000 electric bicycles.

As the global demand for eco-friendly modes of transportation like electric vehicles rises to achieve carbon neutrality, Inzi e-Solution predicts that the collaboration between these two companies, which possess the relevant market and technology, will quickly result in product development of a universal PM lithium pack and lead in carbon neutrality.

Kwon Jingeun, CEO of Inzi e-Solution, said, "We will work hard to develop high-safety, long-life PM lithium batteries, reflecting our experience in R&D of lithium batteries in various industries and our differentiated technology," and added, "We will contribute to the creation and development of related ecosystems with GCOO and also contribute to the realization of carbon neutrality."

Yoon Jongsu, CEO of GCOO, said, "We have created an opportunity for joint growth for the domestic PM ecosystem and the expansion of the battery market," and expressed, "We will actively cooperate to create the best synergy with Inzi e-Solution." He continued, "With this MOU as a starting point, we are launching a business model that encompasses the entire lifecycle of batteries, beyond production to management," and revealed plans to introduce a Battery Sharing Service (BSS) through battery standardization.
