GBike, the operator of South Korea's leading personal mobility (PM) sharing service platform 'GCOO', signed a business agreement on June 4th with 'Career Plus Center', a vocational welfare institution for individuals with developmental disabilities in Seoul, to promote employment enhancement for them.
Through this agreement, both parties have established a practical cooperation system for on-site job training for individuals with developmental disabilities and for the development of custom-tailored job roles. Furthermore, they have agreed to support the social independence of individuals with developmental disabilities.
GBike will support the job coaching and job analysis activities of the Career Plus Center to develop custom-tailored job roles for individuals with developmental disabilities and to actively cooperate in improving the quality of job training. The Career Plus Center plans to deploy job coaches on-site for three months to assist workers with developmental disabilities in acquiring job skills.
In addition, both sides have agreed to address any concerns or opinions of workers with developmental disabilities to facilitate a smooth work adaptation and to consult when necessary to find solutions. Moreover, they have a policy to strictly implement all necessary measures, including mandatory insurance coverage for four major social insurances, to prepare for any accidents that may occur during employment.
"I am pleased that through this agreement, we can fulfill our social responsibility by supporting job training and employment for individuals with developmental disabilities," said Yoon Jong-su, CEO of GBike. "We will do our best to support the social independence of individuals with developmental disabilities in close cooperation with the Career Plus Center going forward," he continued.
Meanwhile, GBike continues to strive to fulfill its responsibility as a social enterprise by activating employment for people with disabilities. In April, GBike signed a 'Mutual Cooperation Agreement for Disabled Employment Support Services' with the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled, Gyeonggi North Branch, and Goyang Disabled People's Welfare Center, continuing its support for the social activities of underserved communities.
