G-bike, operated by CEO Yoon Jong-soo, has launched the 'Choice Fare Plan' for its personal mobility (PM) sharing service platform 'GCOO' to enhance user safety and reduce transportation costs. They announced the release of this selective fare plan on the 1st.

GCOO has expanded users' options by introducing a 'distance-priority fare plan,' which calculates fees based on distance traveled, in addition to the existing 'per-minute fare plan,' which was calculated based on time.

GCOO first launched the distance-priority fare plan in 2021, successfully completing a trial operation in the Sejong region, and has now expanded this fare plan nationwide with this release.

The per-minute fare plan (180 KRW per minute) is advantageous for fast travel in areas with well-maintained cycling infrastructure, whereas the distance-priority fare plan (80 KRW per 100 meters + 30 KRW per minute) is suitable for leisurely travel or roads with many traffic lights.

This revision allows users to select a fare plan that suits their driving habits and road conditions.

In particular, the distance-priority fare plan encourages slower, safer driving with its lower costs, and it is expected to significantly reduce illegal parking in front of crosswalks on roads with many traffic lights, especially when drivers are pressed for time.

According to GCOO's own data analysis, shared PMs are often used for short-distance travel, and considering most users drive at an average speed of less than 15 km/h, this fare system revision is expected to be effective in reducing users' transportation costs.

Additionally, during the launch promotion period, the distance-priority fare plan is available at discounted rates of 70 KRW per 100 meters and 20 KRW per minute.

GCOO CEO Yoon Jong-soo said, "As mobility services continue to evolve, we believe that fare plans need to evolve as well. Just as service diversification and unlimited transfers previously provided by GCOO have increased user satisfaction, we plan to continue expanding reasonable mobility services that promote eco-friendly transportation while easing the burden of transportation costs."
