Gbike, which operates the GCOO personal mobility (PM) sharing platform, attended the '2023 HUE International Forum' held in Hue, Vietnam, where they delivered a session presentation and conducted a smart mobility signing ceremony as a special event.
The Hue International Forum held on December 1 was co-hosted by the Hue Information Technology Center (HueCIT), SMC Hue Co., Ltd., and the Korea Institute of Architecture and Urban Space Research (AURI). The purpose was to raise awareness of the importance of preserving the heritage value and cultural identity of Hue, an ancient capital, and to discuss methods to promote eco-friendly development through digital infrastructure.
GCOO plans to participate in Hue's sustainable development plan by introducing PM (Personal Mobility) sharing services such as electric bicycles in Hue, and as part of this, they attended the forum to present future prospects for sustainable eco-friendly transport and their plans for mobility innovation.
Experts attending the forum shared the latest trends and innovative ideas in the fields of culture, environment, and transportation. They also introduced approaches to the sustainable development of cultural identity, strategies for implementing smart cities, and the construction of eco-friendly transportation infrastructure, leading important discussions about the sustainable development of Hue.
At the special event arranged after the forum sessions, a signing ceremony concerning the introduction of smart mobility in Hue was held between Hoang Viet Trung, Director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center (HMCC), and Jongsoo Yoon, CEO of Gbike.

HMCC is an organization established in the province of Hue that manages the intangible heritage of Hue, including the Complex of Hue Monuments designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1993.
Vietnam, a country with a high ratio of young population and accustomed to two-wheeled mobility, chose 'Hue' as Gbike's first market entry. Hue, a member city of the Organization of World Heritage Cities, is located in central Vietnam and, like Gyeongju in Korea, is a former capital with rich tourist resources including UNESCO World Heritage royal palaces. It is an emerging city on the verge of being promoted to a metropolitan city and is becoming a central economic zone in the central region.
"It is an honor to join discussions with various organizations such as the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) and AURI for the sustainable development of Hue, a historic ancient capital designated by UNESCO," said Jongsoo Yoon, CEO of Gbike. "As a mobility innovation company, Gbike will accelerate the major shift to eco-friendly transportation modes while protecting the global environment and increasing transportation efficiency," he said. Furthermore, he added, "Gbike will faithfully play its role and tasks in Hue's eco-friendly urban development plan and cooperate with various organizations to jointly envision a sustainable future for Hue."
